Tomorrow, January 11, 2009, my chiropractor will be calling my neurologist to discuss what actions can be taken on my lower back.. I know there is a problem with L4-L5 as it was diagnosed 2 years ago on my last MRI. Saturday, I told my chiropractor that I really didn’t care what had to be done, I need the extreme pain to go away.
1/13/09 MRI scheduled for this morning…
well, that was uneventful. Just a regular old MRI, nothing special.
Next step, consultation with my Neurologist on Thursday.
1/16/09 Guess that it is time to go back under the knife. I have a herniated disk between L5 and S1. Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2009. My doctor has been and still is Dr. Thomas A. Bergman, “simply the best”. I’m hoping to be out of the hospital by Friday or Saturday. Then they they are saying 2 to 3 weeks of recovery. 2 to 3 weeks at home…. I’ll have to keep myself occupied with work or something just as soon as the pain thing settles down.
1/29/09 Surgery was yesterday. I am sore. It should be all worth it as I am well on the road to recovery.
2/2/09 and it is still sore. I’m just too impatient..
2/8/09 getting better. Just remind me not to push myself to do too much all at one time.
2/12/09 I’m almost off of my prescriptions. There is no pain at all right now. I am a very happy camper.
3/2/09 through 3/6/09 The idea of slowing down sure went to hell in a hand basket. I worked just about as many hours as I did before surgery. And, I paid the price by being totally exhausted. Now I’m going to bed at 7pm….

[...] 1/18/2009 Brady is a very special baby to us. He has cerebral palsy. Everyday that goes by seems like a new challenge and at the same time, an answer to our prayers. His platelet count was very low at birth. He still has a little blood on the top left side of his brain. There is a chance that cerebral palsy would affect his right side motor functions. Brady’s eyes would jump around a lot. Last week, Nick and Melissa took him into the St. Cloud Hospital where they found that the blood that is still on Brady’s brain is getting down to to the nerve affecting his eye movement. On Wednesday of this week, 1/21/09 Brady will be looked at by a neurosurgeon. They are going to look at putting in a shunt to drain the dried blood. Wednesday, is the same day that my neurosurgeon will be doing my lower back surgery. [...]
