The truck that started it all

Our 1947 IHC KB-5. The truck that started all of this madness.
The original seed was actually a ‘72 Datsun 240-Z that I had picked up from a junk yard that was behind our farm many years ago. I traded our 1970 F-100 farm truck ‘even-up’ for the Datsun. We got a lot of work done on that, new fenders, all rust replaced, etc. Just before it was ready for paint, I needed some $$. The 240-Z had to go.
A few years later, the KB-5 followed us home.

From then on, it’s just history. Nick got a Scout II, and I started collecting more IH trucks. Over the years, I had gotten up to 7 IH trucks. I was having a lot of problems with my back. In 2005, I had multiple back and neck surgeries.

By 2007, my back had further deteriorated to a point that it was very obvious that I could not physically do what I was able to do when I was younger or even a couple of years ago, so I sold off the extra trucks that I just wasn’t going to get time nor have the capabilities to do.

Today it is January, 2008. We are down to the KB-5, the Loadstar and our ‘54 Belair. The KB-5 will stay with us as our original truck. It is currently undergoing a frame off restoration. The Loadstar is in pretty good shape. We will be keeping that for our hauler. The Belair is being rodded and will be our cruiser.

With that in mind, this site, is the on-going story of these three vehicles, my web addiction and maybe a few things about my ‘day’ job. The story never ends.
